Forensic Psychiatry Services

“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one remembers to turn on the light.” - J.K. Rowling

In non-criminal court processes when a person may be a danger to him/her self or others, the Center provides psychological and psychiatric evaluations to the probate court in Montgomery County. These evaluations may result in community treatment, involuntary hospitalization or court-ordered medication in order to ensure the least restrictive treatment.

As part of the community forensic mental health system, the Forensic Psychiatry Center for Western Ohio assists the boards and community mental health agencies by providing consultations, making training available and identifying the needs for program and service planning purposes.
